WEDNESDAY - The Kittatinny Cougars won the duel against the Jefferson Falcons. Cougars won by a score of 2 to 1. In the beginning of the game, the wind speeds were approximately 50 miles per hour which presented both teams with disadvantages. In the end, Kittatinny was in a better position to finish.

In the first half of the game, Kittatinny had one goal attempt while Jefferson had 7 goal attempts. #9, Amanda Thompson, had a fast break early on for Kittatinny, but was halted by Jefferson’s backs. Then as Jefferson broke away, # 10, Jalianne Heater of Kittatinny stopped the Falcon in her tracks. The Falcons out shot the Cougars in the first half, but Kittatinny’s Sam Knorr scored the half’s only goal.

In the second half of the game, roles reversed and Kittatinny out shot Jefferson. Kittatinny had 10 shots on goal, while Jefferson had a meager 3. Jefferson did score a goal to tie the game. However, Kittatinny’s offense lead by Amanda Thompson and Sam Knorr came up with another goal before the game’s end. “The offense and defense were evenly matched. These teams were evenly matched, but we simply did not have enough time to come back and win the game,” commented Coach Danielle Ryan of the Falcons.
